Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong. The movie is filled with loud explosions and battle scenes, mostly involving a lot of punching and throwing and, in one case, deadly light rays that sear through a character's core. "Green Lantern" presents yet another case of a human being given the responsibility of leading the battle of good vs. evil, or, in this case, of the Will vs.
We learn that an ancient race of aliens has divided the universe into segments to enforce peace, but is being resisted by an alien named Parallax. It features Hal Jordan becoming the Green Lantern and facing his fear. The film was the intended start to the DC Extended Universe, but after it flopped critically and commercially. Green Lantern is surprisingly easy to follow. A narrated introduction gets you up to speed with what's going on in the universe. The opening of Green Lantern might just constitute a trend in movies about magic rings, for having Australian actors deliver exposition right at the top.
